Abstract

Since its first appearance in 1852, as a journal of textual criticism, Mnemosyne has been securing its position as one of the world's leading journals in its field. Its position is built on the thorough and famous Dutch academic tradition. Authors around the world contribute to Mnemosyne which results in a unique and special combination of European and American visions. Its presence in libraries around the globe is a sign of its continued success as an invaluable resource material. Featuring primarily English articles, Mnemosyne also contains an extensive Book Review Section and the worldwide famous 'Miscellanea' section (short articles on particular excerpts). The Book Review Section does not focus at one single field, but utilizes a multidisciplinary approach.

Abstract

Erkenntnis is a philosophical journal publishing papers committed in one way or another to the philosophical attitude which is signified by the label "analytic philosophy". It concentrates on those philosophical fields which are particularly inspired by this attitude, although other topics are welcome as well. Currently we cover topics like: epistemology, philosophies of science, logic and language, ontology, philosophical psychology and practical philosophy. In recent years, philosophers standing quite outside the pale of analytic philosophy have also paid careful, and indeed most welcome, attention both to precision of concept and language, and to well-grounded foundations. Erkenntnis provides for them, and for philosophers of all persuasions, a place of meeting, of discussion, and of disputation.

Abstract

Economic Theory provides an outlet for research in all areas of economics based on rigorous theoretical reasoning and on topics in mathematics that are supported by the analysis of economic problems. Published articles contribute to the understanding and solution of substantive economic problems. Among the topics addressed in the journal are classical and modern equilibrium theory, cooperative and non-cooperative game theory, macroeconomics, social choice and welfare, uncertainty and information, intertemporal economics (including dynamical systems), public economics, international and developmental economics, financial economics, money and banking, and industrial organization. In addition to original research articles, Economic Theory publishes surveys for particular areas of research that clearly set forth the basic underlying concepts and ideas, the essential technical apparatuses, and the central open questions.

Abstract

Studies in East European Thought is intended to provide a forum for Western-language (English and German) writings on philosophy and philosophers who identify with the history and cultures of East and Central Europe, including Russia, Ukraine, and the Baltic States. The editors do not advocate a program or defend a position as to the nature and limits of philosophy in its manifold interactions with other disciplines and in its role in articulating cultural values and marking intellectual dissonances. They welcome descriptive, critical, comparative, and historical studies of individuals, schools, currents, and institutions whose work and influence are widely regarded in their own environments to be philosophical or provide insight into the socio-cultural conditions of philosophical life in Eastern Europe.
